THREE COLOR SYSTEMS IN ONE PLACE
Colour Lab
NCS
NCS (Natural Colour System®) is a globally recognized color communication method based on human color perception. It is used in design, architecture and manufacturing for accurate color communication. Using NCS codes ensures consistent color reproduction in all contexts and applications.
Pantone®
The PANTONE Matching System (PMS) is a comprehensive color system designed to ensure accuracy and consistency in color reproduction across different industries. PANTONE is used in print, textiles and plastics and is relevant throughout the value chain - from design to branding.
RAL
RAL is a German color system used in creative industries such as architecture and design. It was introduced in 1927 and now includes 216 colors in the RAL Classic collection. RAL Design includes 1,825 colors, while RAL Effect has 420 solid colors and 70 metallic colors without heavy metals.

NCS
NCS is a globally recognized color communication method originally developed in Sweden. It differs from other systems by being based on human perception of color, making it one of the world's most intuitive and scientifically grounded color systems. NCS is widely used in various industries, including design, architecture, manufacturing and education, to ensure accurate and consistent color communication.
The core concept of the NCS system is that all possible colors can be described using the relationship to the six elementary colors: white, black, yellow, red, blue and green. This system allows users to specify colors with unprecedented accuracy using NCS codes, a standard in the color industry. This ensures that a colour is perceived and rendered consistently, regardless of the context or application.
The NCS system is an invaluable tool for designers and manufacturers who want to communicate their visions more effectively. It provides a common platform for color discussions, which is crucial in processes where the choice of colors plays a key role in the final result

Pantone
The PANTONE Matching System (PMS) is a comprehensive color system designed to ensure accuracy and consistency in color reproduction across various industries. Originally developed for the printing industry, the system uses a unique numbering system to identify colors, enabling designers and manufacturers to communicate specific colors accurately.
The PANTONE system includes a wide range of colors, including specialty colors such as metallic, neon and pastel. It is particularly useful in design, product development, branding and marketing where accurate color reproduction is essential. PANTONE continues to develop and adapt its system to meet changing technological and market needs, making it a key resource in color communication and design.
RAL
RAL is a German color system used primarily in creative industries such as architecture, construction and industry. The system was first introduced in 1927 as RAL 840 with a collection of 40 colors. Later it was expanded and renamed RAL 840 R, and in the 1960s it became RAL 840-HR to avoid confusion about color names. In the 1980s, RAL 841-GL was introduced with 193 colors, including colors with a glossy surface.
The RAL system consists of different collections, including RAL Classic, RAL Design and RAL Effect. RAL Classic now contains 216 colors and is known for its wide range of colors used in various creative applications. RAL Design, introduced in 1993, includes 1,825 colors and is tailored to the needs of architects, designers and advertisers. RAL Effect contains 420 solid colors and 70 metallic colors and is based on water-based paint systems free of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and chromates.
